Biographie
Le groupe de Death Metal mélodique hollandais, God Dethroned, a été formé en 1990 par le chanteur Henri Sattler accompagné de plusieurs de ses amis (M. Beukeveld, M. Arends, et A. Dijkstra)
En 1992, ils enregistrent leur première demo et signe un contrat chez le label allemand Shark un peu après. Leur premier album s’intitule “The Christhunt”. Dethroned fait une pause l’année suivante, avec Sattler qui forme un nouveau groupe appelé Ministry of Terror.
En 1994, avec son groupe Ministry of Terror, Sattler sort un nouvel album “Fall of Life” et réalise une tournée en Europe, à la suite de cela, il décide de reformer God Dethroned avec le guitariste Jens Van Der Valk, le bassiste Beef, et le batteur Roel Sanders. Avec cette line-up, il va signer un contrat avec le label Metal Blade, et naîtra ainsi The Grand Grimoire en Europe en 1997; cet album est même sortit au Etats-Unis l’année d’après.
