Metal Blade Records est un label d’enregistrement indépendant fondé en 1981 par Brian Slagel. Il officie au USA, en Allemagne et au Japon. Le la bel est distribué aux U.S. par Sony BMG Music Entertainment/RED Distribution.
Les artistes de Metal Blade sont apparues dans le Top 200 du Billboard Top 200, les voici : As I Lay Dying, The Black Dahlia Murder, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Fates Warning, GWAR, King Diamond, Job for a Cowboy, The Red Chord et enfin Unearth. Le seul artiste à avoir obtenu un disque d’or ou de platinum fut les Goo Goo Dolls.
